When I got home yesterday afternoon someone had opened the rear gate on a truck and scattered shelled corn up and down my road. I should have swept it up and taken it to the elevator but it was at least a half mile long dump. All we could think of was the corn was rejected somewhere but with corn at $7 here it seems like it could be used for something. I wish I had video camera on my front porch, I probably could have caught it on camera and figured out who it was. I called the county but I don't think they were interested, I figured it is a traffic hazard feeding the deer on the road. People never cease to amaze me.

Can’t think anybody would do that on purpose, no matter the bushel price of corn.
Driver probably accidentally bumped the switch to the rear gate, while driving down the road fiddling with dash switch’s/levers/buttons.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Trap probably came open. I doubt they intended to spread it down the road.

They drove a half mile and turned around driving right beside the spread corn while spreading corn. There's no reason for them to be on my hodunk road, no bins or elevators on the entire road and not on the way to any.

I was worried about the deer too but county didn't seem to care.

Ben... i would put up a plywood sign at each end WARNING people of corn / deer on the road ahead.. ............ I would be nice to at least BLADE the corn over the side.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Steve you're absolutely correct. I'm a long way from home right now but I will see how much is left this afternoon.
