Usually done by finding donor parts off a D-14/15 machine and swapping to your tractor, kinda getting harder to find, post request here, someone might have parts you need. Expect to pay $$$ for the parts [ unless your a lucky one! ]

I saw a D17 that had a Char-Lyn system added to it being parted on evilbay once. The D14 would be similar. You might also just keep an eye out for a factory P/S. They're out there...

I changed mine out a couple years ago.  You need the entire center part, I beleive it's referred to as the bolster?  From past posts the pump is getting dificult to find and the drive gear is getting eaten on those.  You also need a different section of the steering rod.  They are different lengths between the two, but I don't remember which was longer or shorter.

Parts required:
Bolster with all hyd lines attached.
Pump
Steering Rod.

I think I gave 250 for mine which was an outstanding deal, expect to pay 400.

Also expect to torch the steering arm that is attached to the under side to get it off.  It was quite a chore.  We heated it for quite a while and used a large puller to finally break it loose.

You might as well get a couple new tie rod ends while your at it.

Have fun, and be safe!
