Guess what?
My ol' girl decided she wanted to quit pumpin oil! Ya, yikes!
Have a model 'C', and noticed the oil pressure gauge was not working, I mean the needle is all the way to the left and will not move, at all.
Checked into it tonight, and changed gauges, still....no oil pressure.
Then took the oil filter off. Fired it up, still.......no oil pressure.
Scratchin my head on this one. I have not tore into it yet, but was wondering..What are the common issues with no oil pressure on B/Cs ?
I did notice a little oil sludge in the base of the oil filter spicket, where is screws on, laying in the bottom. Will a little oil jello be enough to do this? Could the oil pump gear be spinning on the shaft, if the pin snapped?

I am having the same problem with my C. If I squirt oil down the tube inside the oil filter then fire it up it will have pressure. Mine is losing prime which means split the tractor and fix the pump so off come the cultivators. You could try squirting oil in yours to see if it changes anything.

It sounds more like the pin in the end of the cam that runs the oil pump. I think they have the same setup as my old D14 and it did that one time.JP

I f you have "jello" in the filter housing, It's could be a lot thicker down on the bottom of the suction screen, stopping the pump from working.

if you put oil in the pipe above the pump and start it up the oil pressure comes back that means the oil pump is bad. I rebuild the oil pumps. call 815-865-5372 or www.normsactractors.com

The first thing to try is to prime the pump. If it will not prime then you need to check for a broken drive pin that is located at the back of the camshaft. This pin can be checked and replaced by removing the pan without splitting the tractor. The pin is located just in front of the rear cam bearing. I took pictures to help someone put in a pin this way several years back. If priming the pump does not get the oil pumping I will hunt them up.

my rc would lose prime. when i finally got around to taking it apart, i found that the spring inside the oil pump was broken. put a different spring in and works great now, doesn't lose prime. alan

Had trouble with my B losing prime a couple of years ago. Put a bottle of STP in oil and have had no trouble since

BAD NEWS....
Tried putting oil in the filter tube, no luck.
Looks like I will be pulling the pan off in the near future and taking a look at the pump. I happen to have a couple extra, that might come in handy.
