You should post a warning about viewing the link you posted. I may need therapy after seeing that poor tractor. Ryan

Paying $15,000 for a nice, well cared for tractor would be much "cheaper" than that pos. Holy cow!!

I just knew that was out of Arkansas or Louisiana, till I blew up that map. I couldn't believe it was up north. That's unusual, but I am sure there are mistreated machines all over.

Having just done my 7000, my tractor budget is about empty, but if you guys what to take up a collection and get it to my garage, I'd put it back together and let it live out the rest of its life in easy semi-retirement.

Just offering!

Ouch, that's hard to look at, especially since I'd like to have a 8010. But with enough time and $$$, it can be saved.

Well if I could fix them myself without having to hire someone to help all the time I could see that. But I just don't have the mechanical skills to do that seems like every time I get into a mechanical project I end up having to take it to a shop and if I am lucky they will let me work with them but even reading the manuals I find it is harder then it looks. I just get frustrated with that rusted broken bolt or snap ring which was I guess put in wrong and won't come out. Always seems there is something I just can't figure out. So my hat is off to you for being able to take these and make them nice again.

Dang! Can't believe that tractor is up north AND back east! Usually those are the best tractors! It does look like a deep south tractor... Not that the ones in OK are much better...although I know a handful of farmers who keep their equipment top-notch, in the barn ever night. Myself included.

I think about that every time I see a rough tractor, combine, etc. When they are abandoned in a pasture is what really gets me...If they're in the back corner of a good barn, it doesn't bother me so much, but when they sit out and look like they went through a couple world wars and tornadoes, I just cringe!

Here is an even cheaper 8030 that is almost as bad. I think there is enough left of the side panels on that 8010 that a good fiberglass man could fix them.  Not sure WTF the guy was thinking when he butchered the side panels on this one. Confused

Our local salvage has two 8000 series that are in much better shape parting out. Must have been a JD owner that didn't like that machine.

Why are they parting out, do they have a hole in the block or something?  Are the cab doors and side panels still on them.

If I knew where I could find a set of doors and side panels cheap I would make offer on that $6K 8030.   It has got to be one of the last 8030s off the line because in this photo of it you can see the "D" from the Deutz Allis decals that were on it.

Not necessarily one of the last ones made.  Deutz decals were placed on some 84 and 85 models in order to warranty work to be honored (from what I read).

I dunno, I was just a kid back when the buyout happened.  I heard that it was only the unsold inventory that got re-decaled.

I know one thing, if I had been farming back in '85 and took my new AC tractor in for warranty work and someone took it upon themselves to scrape the AC decals off and replace them with some that said Deutz, they woulda gotten hurt. Angry

Well if they told you they couldn't fix your tractor you just invested a ton of money in you would have loved that sticker that saved you thousands of dollars.... heat think GM is using its bankruptcy to not fix recall worthy cars and they are the same company just went through some hard times and couldn't pay their bills. Makes me want to change the sticks on my gm products.
