Considering the fact that the largest unit I sold was the 66 two row All Crop I am AMAZED!!
Sixteen Rows. Almost too impossible for me to believe. Even though it is Red I have no problem. I am so impressed. Also, how about how easily the header is removed for transportation. Outstanding. How about the tracks on the combine and tractor. Great flotation. Thank you so much for sharing. How Impressive!! Good Luck! Bill Long

Don’t know how much but I would bet it’s a lot less than the green machines! The Axial Flow machine’s do a pretty good job. If you want to reap and sow at the same time go green.

I am 54 years old and our small family farm got its recognition two years ago for being 100 years old. I remember as a small child my grandmother who was straight out of "old country" shelling corn in the summer kitchen by hand. Yes by hand. Times have surely changed but I would love to go back. Ryan

The HORST header wagons are built about 25 miles from me. A real company success story started on the farm.

I have also picked corn by hand, tossed it into a steel wheeled wagon against a bank board. Scooped it into a corn crib. Couldn't do it today. I do like the Axel flows.

We still use older gravity wagons to move our grain to the bins. If I hooked both of our wagons behind our 7040 and started combining with that, I have a feeling I'd have both wagons full in about 10 minutes

LOTS OF WORK is being done simultaneously! If that cornhead is 16rows x 30”, then 1acre of corn is being picked, threshed, cleaned, & elevated into combine’s grain tank ever 1089 linear row feet.
That means for a square 40 acre field, that’s easily 1 pass thru after headlands removed. So if that field is yielding 200, 250, or 300 bu/acre, it’s graintank is respectfully being filled, per EACH 1089’ pass!!! Multiple each pass’s yield by 33 passes, add the headlands yields & the 40 acres is completed. If harvest speed is; 3mph ~ 3 hours/40 acres, 4mph ~ 2 hours/40 acres, 5mph ~ 1.6hrs/40 acres. On a second glance at video, it may be 20” instead of 30” row spacing?? Edited by AC7060IL - 23 Sep 2020 at 8:40am |
