I rebuilt my carb on my 190 xt and now when i start him he idles fine but as soon as you touch the throttle it goes wide open. Have checked every thing i can think of. Do you think its the govener or the throttle linkage. I am at a loss.

I never worked on a 190 but it sounds like a spring in the throttle linkage somewhere between the carburetor and the governor may be unhooked.

Definitely check the weights on your governor. That happened on my D17 a few years ago.

are the weights inside the timing gear cover . i looked in the book and it dosent say much
