I received my new OEM light switch for my 1952 CA from B&B today. One minor issue is that with my control box from the CA, the hole measures ~0.422 (7/16) inch. The ferrule on the switch measures ~0.549 inches (1/2+) inch. I can bore the hole out a bit or mod the ferrule on the switch to fit in the hole. Have others found this issue? B&B had not heard of this ever occurring before. Did older tractors have a slightly smaller hole/ferrule? Are people just going ahead and boring the hole out and not bringing the "issue" up? |

...or should there be some sort of gasket? The stem is really short, so seems like it would need to be a pretty thin gasket.

Aha. The ferrule is removable and can be inserted into the hole first. I thought it was for mere alignment. Very odd design though. The switch control rod plops out of its hole and is a bit awkward to install that way. Virtually impossible to get a wrench on that nut :( So...it's a bezel instead of a ferrule. If they had used the word bezel, I'da got it right away :)
