Buying advice 6000/7000

   I am looking into possibly purchasing another orange tractor as you can't have too many of them and need some opinions and advice.   I am looking at another 6080, most likely 4wd or a 7000/7010.  I know little to nothing about the 7000 series as a 6080 is my biggest tractor.
Background info...I currently have a kuhn discbine with 8ft cut that requires 60hp minimum, but if this one ever gives up I would have to replace it with a slight bigger one, 9ft that requires 70hp minimum as my model isn't made anymore.  Currently I use a 6080 2wd on the discbine and in real heavy grass it knows it's back there.  I also have a newer 70 hp 4wd of another color(not green) I could run on the discbine as well and think it could probably handle the 9ft. maybe?  It doesn't have any issues with the 10ft brush hog in heavy grass/weeds.  I cut around 85-100 acres of hay each year depending on the number of cuttings.

If I went with a 6080 4wd I would put a loader on it for hauling bales and it would give me a second/backup 4wd tractor. Trying to find one in real good condition and lower hours will be hard and probably pricy.  They are easy on fuel.

The 7000 series would be cutting hay and brush hogging only.  The cheaper option to buy at least, but not sure on the maintenance cost and fuel usage. A cab is neither here nor there for me so open station or turning the cab into a canopy is an option.  How loud are they w/o a cab?

What do you all think, should I be looking at another 6080 or a 7000 series?  I don't have the shed space for both sadly.

	Id go 6080- they will do what your discribing, and very verstile than a 7000 series,,

	Thanks. I figured they might be a litter more versatile and also take up less shed space.

	6080 fwa'S are slick units, rare, and keep in mind they do not turn very short so the maneuverability could be an issue.

	Just a thought, If you're looking at a 6080 maybe also look at a 8010, I never own a 6080 but I sure love my 8030 and the 8010 is basely a 8030 with a 301 instead of a 426. You just have to have options.

	We had a 7040 that i thought was just as nimble as our 190s were We used it fir everything It was a powershift which slickened iup handling a lot.

	Without a doubt, there is a big gap between a 6080 and a 7010/8010 chassis. The 6080 2WD with no cab is 7600 lbs and the 7010-8010 are just about 12K lbs with a cab.

	Kenny thanks for the idea, I will have to take a look at the 8010 as well and compare. Dr are you are talking just weight or all dimensions? The extra weight doesn't bother me so much, just the outside dimensions to make sure on shed space. I drive/travel/farm some hills so having weight for traction is a must. My 6080 has filled tires and a set of rear weights along with front weights for handling the discbine. Granted all my "main" tractors have fluid in the tires. That's a d17iv and up. My smaller ones just have rear weights or nothing unless they came with fluid in the tires. As tbran said 6080s fwa is hard to find especially a good one that wasn't abused. That's one of the other reason to look for a slightly larger tractor along with it being cheaper. I am going to look at a 7020 and 7060 a neighbor has to see what the cab is like on them and see what they say about them.
