looking for some input here. Narrowed down between a 8050 mfd with power director thats alittle rough or a 8070 two wheel drive with a powershift.  the 8050 needs tires all around and new 3 point links. The 8070 needs nothing but its $5000 more. I dont know what to do.

What would you be using it for? The FWA and 2 wheel drive would be good for different things.

Sounds like the 8050 has a lot of hours on it or has been used hard if it needs work on the 3pt. Power is going to be similar on both but if your pulling in loose dirt the fwa is much better.

I would go with the 8070 as you would not be as likely to buy someones elses problems and for what your doing 2 wheel drive should work just fine.
Good Luck
Randy

You'll spend that $5,000 on tires.

That's a great price on tires, I'm guessing 18.4 x 38 rear and 14.9 x28 fronts?

Are they radials?

I just put 20.8R 38s on the rear and 16.9R 26 on the front of my 8070, both apparenly not popular sizes any more, (and when I remembered to subtract the cost of the duals) they were a little over $4,000 mounted.

Sounds like the 8070 would be the best bet for me.

From what I hear, the 8070 would probably be the way for you to go, mostly because the powershift would be nicer for pulling wagons. Do take in mind though, if you plan on doing any PTO work, the 8050 has both 540 and small 1000; the 8070 will have only the large thousand. Darrel
