    Posted: 10 Jan 2011 at 3:27pm
I am thinking of buying some brake pedals for my early B.  Can the later model brake pedals be installed on an earlier B (w/o pedals)?  If so what is needed to do this?  Does anybody have some pics of how the pedals mount up and link to the brakes?

Thanks,
-JR

I'd be interested in the same information.  I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my 1940 B.  I've already picked up a few of the pieces but don't have the taller seat frame.  As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

It takes another B with everything needed for footbrakes to make a footbrake B out of a handbrake B. To start with, you need your fender support angle irons  changed or modifyed for the footbrakes. The brake band toggles for handbrakes need to be changed for ones that work with footbrakes.  The brake shafts, pedels, lilkage rods toggles and toggel levers off a C are the same as a B and easy to find. The correct footbrake fender supports are the biggest issue
I guess you could use C fender supports but a good set of C fenders are hard to find.
It's no little job to do it right.
