Boy, did I get lucky, XT grill?

Last week I was using our XT and front end loader to clear dead branches around the perimeter of the fields general cleanup, carry branches and sticks to the burn pile. A day or so later I went to get the tractor out of the shed and noticed the grill was not on the front of the tractor. First I almost got sick to my stomach because it's a pretty good grill, so we started backtracking and looking for it. We found it on top of the burn pile evidently when I was pushing the branches and debris up a stick popped the grill off and I didn't even see it was missing just happy that it's still in pretty good shape. So for anyone out there pushing brush keep an eye on your grill!

When I went through my XT back in 2016 I decided to remove the terrible latches and install a back plate, drill and tap it. Now 4 bolts hold my precious grill in place. No more worries of it coming unlatched and getting run over. Very easy to remove for service. I’m glad you didn’t damage it, they are expensive if you can find a good one.

I won't pass a correct police inspection, but I put rubber hooks and latches on mine to hold it in place.

I do something similar to AC720. I use a 1/4 x 1 x 3 inch plate. I welded nuts on the back side but you could tap threads also. One got tractor was made for 3/8 bolts other one only used 1/4.

I do like the looks of that. Will be on the "to do list" for this winter.

I adjusted the stock latches so that they were snug, then wrapped a small nylon zip tie around each latch to prevent them from popping open. Use UV resistant zip ties.
