I just bought a wide front at an auction with the center channel slightly bent. Any suggestions on how I might bend it back. Will a good size press to it? My press is too narrow but was thinking of using a 20 ton jack, an HD11 dozer and some steel plates and blocks. Another thought was to cut the curved braces off and then straighten then weld back together. Second option doesn't look easy. Anyone else have success straightening one? Thanks

The axles weren't set wide when I bought it. Just one hole showing and with some snoose juice and some tapping with a maul they came out. Wasn't bad to get them out.

Chain it down out by the spindles on your trailer and use a 20 ton jack at the point it looks to be bent down.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

To add to that, I'd have a 1" thick plate about 6 inches square to place between the bottle jack screw and the axle tube and see how close you can get it back to straight. To finish one might be down to 3 inches long to over bend it so it can spring back.

Isn't that a tube with the bottom partially cut out? Might want to tack a couple chunks over the slot to keep it somewhat square whe bending back. The metal is stretched so I doubt you can straiten it well. My opinion....

Another idea, do you have a friend that has a body shop? Frame straightener can true it up. Seen it done.
