hey guys, I once read somewhere that you can use block sealer instead of oring for cylinder liners. I had my original sleaves bored out in the block. They said the sleaves were not square in the block, so the were able to correct that when the y bored it out. So, I am hesitant to knock them out and replace the orings. They were not leaking before, but they are very old. What kind of sealer can I pour in around the sleaves from the coolant side?
Would the red seal gas tank sealer work ? Thanks

I have used BARS 1109 Block Sealer... AFTER the fact.. On an assembled engine that has a liner or gasket leak.. Pour into the radiator and let it seal things up... I have never used it during a rebuild..

The correct way to fix is to bore out the bottom and install a repair sleeve and then rebore to original size and use oil rings. That’s the way I do and block repair. Need oil rings to seal up. Fix it right the first time and don’t worry about. Done this in 301/426, 4 cylinder blocks.
