Over on the Yesterdays Tractors site in the TRACTOR section of the photo ads dated 2/17/2019 is a Ben Pearson cotton picker listed in Arkansas. They are asking $3,000.00 for it. The picture makes it look decent.

Looks like it's in great condition. Looks like one that belongs in the Coon's collection in AZ!

x2! I'm somewhat fond of the Ben Pearson line, due to their rarity and connection with Allis-Chalmers.
Here's a photo I found a while back of a few pickers at a dealer

Wow! Awesome pic! There sure isn't much about those around anymore. Those look like I remember seeing them in the 70's in Mercedes Texas. Always saw them on the dealer lot, but never knew anyone who had one.

I've never seen a BP picker, and just recently found out about a couple BP strippers. Those are even more rare I believe, as fewer than 200 were made. I found out Ben Pearson is still in business in Pine Bluff, AR, and I called them. The guy I talked to said he was the only one left who was there when they made the cotton strippers, and he was kind enough to look through their archives and sent me an e-mail copy of a brochure for the model 1076 cotton stripper they produced.

Had a chance to buy 2 John Rust pickers mounted on WC Allis tractors about 15 years ago. Wish I had them now.

Be really cool to see a picker brochure too! I wonder if they worked with AC on these? The stripper header looks just like the AC header.

You are right Ed, the stripper header was made by Allis-Chalmers and the only difference is the feeder house is 36 inches wide on the Ben Pearson, where it is about 15 inches wide on an Allis. The reason it was so narrow on the Allis is because they were really two row machines that they fit a four row header on for cotton that was making less than one bale per acre. It was a temporary thing that was going to be resolved by the development of a new “Super stripper” that was ready for release about the same time as the series 3 rotary Gleaners, but they didn’t want to overload their plate with too many new products at once, or so I am told.
I know Allis did work with Ben Pearson/Rust on the cotton pickers as well. The spindle units were nearly identical I believe.

I knew they worked with John Rust when AC first came out with pickers, but then Ben Pearson ended up with the Rust design. I know those 2 machines share the same picking principle.

Same company. Sounds weird, I know...they made bows and cotton harvesters, and I guess now pipe benders. Not things you'd think would typically go together.

Yep, exhaust tubing benders for years. Go in to your local exhaust shop and they likely have a blue and yellow Ben Pearson Bender.
