Here are some before/after pics of a recent project for your enjoyment:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's the only photo I have of this in its original "orange" condition: ![]() Here is what my grandfather did to it in 1967: ![]() He found the tractor sitting in a field when he bought the farm. He fixed up the tractor painting it yellow for some reason and used it mainly for mowing for years until at some point we retired it and it sat in the barn for about ten years. Now we have just finished fixing it up and probably will use it mainly for shows/parades.

Old tractors are always more special when they have been in the family. Looks like you did a nice job on it.

Jhebel,
I had to zoom in on the pictures to reveal the very nice work that you did on this C to bring it back to VERY good condition! You will enjoy it at shows! I can see lots of details that show you preserved and improved the tractor during your work on it. Family tractors are great! You had the foresight to take very nice before and after pictures too. Thanks for posting these and Welcome to the forum! The paint looks very good! Regards, Chris

Simply wonderful Jhebel! The work, story, all of it. If you don't mind me asking, how much $ and how long (roughly)? My C has some WI snow to plow this winter, but come spring I want to get started on the restoration. Thank you for sharing!

This has been kind of an on and off project for about 4 years or so. Definitely could have done it faster if it was the only thing to do, but busy lives make it difficult to find time to work on this stuff. I can’t tell you the exact number in it because I haven’t really compiled all of the receipts yet but I would have to say it was easily over a grand. Most of the new parts came off a doner tractor (including tires and rims) which I think we payed around $500 for if I remember right. I can post some pics of the tractor all torn apart if I get some time later. |

What a BEAUTIFUL job on what I consider to be the best looking tractor I sold. I remember the C raking being on the cover of Farm Journal. Has had and still has a great look
My congratulations on a job well done. You have made all us Allis Chalmers enthusiasts proud. Good Luck! Bill Long |
