Been trying to set in the castings on the 200 axles. Safe to say the former owner(s) never moved them before. Had to buy a new 3/4 impact wrench and bent the screw in a three armed puller but I get them both to move. The front end put up a good fight as well. I chained the 7045 to one side while pulling out the wheel with the forklift on the other. The tie rods came apart easy with a little heat. A good job done.

Yeah, that’s like when someone tells me how good something has been and “it’s never been apart!” when it should have been for normal maintenance. And now that it HAS to come apart it’s all corroded up and a pain to get apart.

Been there 2 years ago on my XT. Took me 2.5 days of heat, oil and pounding to get my front spindles separated. Longer on the rear. I would set up the propane torch close to the collar for most of the day turning occasionally. I don't like using the impact on things like this. I prefer using a strong breaker bar with a long pipe for leverage.

I put a chisel in the grove to spread it open just a little. Did you know that chisels make a bell ringing sound as they go flying past you on their way to the far end of the building. I still haven't found it yet. Yet.

My former Allis mechanic told me not to try spreading them apart. They can break very easily like that. Never said anything about flying chisels though.

I've never yet run across one that I couldn't get with a little prep work. Have to first clean up the threads real good with a thread chaser or thread tap. Then grease up the threads in the hole and on the pusher bolts, and be very liberal with the grease. Then put the impact to them, just chattering on em a little at a time, and keep going from bolt to bolt. Usually works for me on the toughest ones. Darrel

Does any one know if those bolts are still available from a dealer? I searched the parts book under 190 XT and couldn't even find the axle collar/wedge assembly.
