I brought the WD to the tire guy to get a new tire put on and I'm sure you all know how one thing leads to another, well it happened to me! The tire guy said that he really doesn't want to put the new tire and tube on the old rim because it was really bad! I looked at it and he's right. He took a key out and said "watch this" and with that started scraping at the rim and litterally started taking chunks of metal off. He said "within 5 minutes I would be able to dig right through this rim with a key and that it's a waste to put new tire and tube on not to mention the rough metal would rip the tube apart anyway. So my question is can any of you direct me to the best place to get a new or good used rim for the old WD?? I'll have to do something pretty quick because it's up on jacks at the tire shop waiting to be completed. Thank you for any help. Dennis.

I bought a new rim for my 45 at Moore Tires in Rock Falls, Il. At the time they were $100 cheaper than Stiener tractor parts.

I just bought two new ones from OK tractor. Got them in a week Nice brand new Rims I should be good for another 50 Years. One of mine had been repaired. the other had a oversized hole by the time they got the tube scraped off it was a big hole about 6 inches long. its now a Fire pit.

I might have one or two good used ones here, but both of them have tires on them, so they could look the same on the inside as yours does. I could work on dismounting them tonite if you're interested, but I'm way north of you, so I would have to ship it to you most likely. Let me know if you're interested. I can't guarantee that either of them are perfect though.

Thank you very much fella's I got lucky and found a decent (not perfect by any means) used rim off a 45 and we mounted a nice looking new Firestone on it today BIG JOB! everything was frozen up and darn near as strong as being welded together I never seen nuts and bolts so tight!
I am going to keep all this info in mind because although the rim on the other side is much better than the old one was that we just took off the tire guy pointed out to me that it's bubbling rust around the valve stem which was how the old one started
as well. I'm thinking I might just get a jump on it and have a rim handy when I need it. I might just be calling one of you real quick here.
In my opinion chloride solution was about the dumbest idea I ever heard of! I thought I got it all out years ago but apparently not and it sure did a number on those rims that's forsure!

even though you removed the calcium chloride years ago, once it starts eating the metel, it never stops. it gets embeded in the metel and eats on.
