Good evening,
In a few days I'm going to look at a b212. The fellow states it used to run great but now after storage it runs a little rough ( no biggy). But here's my question, what should I be looking for as far as issues with the vari-shift trans? It also comes with a tiller mounted on it. He's asking $800. I'm located in PA and don't see to many of Allis garden tractors. That price seem reasonable? Also will a b110 mower deck mount up to the b212? |

B110 deck would. I think $800 might be a bit stiff, but I'm the same as you. In 3 years of looking, I've found 2 B10's and a B110. I'd love a B112 vari.

I wouldn't think that price was to bad providing the tiller works good. Its a running machine. I figure a nice tiller has to be worth $250-$400 depending on usage and the condition its in, so that leaves the Tractor at round figures about $500. in running condition. Coarse depends to on the condition of the Tractor also. If the Tractor is beat up, then a little negotiation is in order on the price....

The B 110 deck will work but the 200 series went to the double groove pulley on the PTO.As long as they are both 42" decks just swap the main drive pulley on the deck.

The price seems okay to me, not that I have a whole lot of experience. Not many B garden tractors come available here in Oklahoma either. I saw a 212 in Joplin a few months ago for $400 (something around that). The guy said he needed the money so I think that was a low number. I just bought a tiller for my B-212. It was out of state as well, so I had additional cost of pick up added on top. It was listed for $350, but because I bought a bunch of other B-212 stuff we negotiated a lower price.

PA should have plenty of Allis GT options. I have found PA to be in the top 3 states for Allis GT listings (OH and WI might have PA beat). $800 sounds very high to me, unless it is show-ready, or is stacked with rare options. The variables are toughest from a maintenance perspective, and seem to be the most plentiful of the flathood B's. I've had a real tough time getting rid of the ones I have had. A tiller runs $150-350, depending on how badly you need one, or if time is on your side.
Perhaps we can help watch for a better deal.
