B125 cam bearing removal tool

   I discovered in my junk pile. Went searching for a way to remove cam bearings without buying a driver kit. Picked up a 42" craftsman mower deck mandrel shaft out of the junk pile and discovered the end where the blade attaches is the exact size of the OD of bearing. Took 5 minutes to remove the three bearings. Just add the original nut to threaded end and place a 7/8 socket and extension and the center bearing is easily reached. Just wanted to share this idea with others who may be tool challenged like I am most of the time.

	How well I remember those days,,,tool challanged. 20 years ago I found a way to purchase my first lathe and an old milling machine and today I realy dont think I could enjoy working on old stuff without them. Not meaning to brag but your post reminded me to be thankful. When you install the cam bearings you need to be very careful about alignment as they can easily be started and driven in crooked. Once started crooked they often will not self align in the bores. That's why the drivers have a cone shaped guide for the extansion and you allways drive the end bearings from the far end of the block.

	I had to put new cam bearings in my RC several years ago but lacked a "tool". I had an old baseball bat in the barn and cut out a section with the larger diam same as the OD of the bearing. Used it as a driver against the bearings. I know, it's hokey but it worked. Bob@allisdowneast
