2yrs ago after plowing hard the engine locked up. I pulled it down and found the crank was running against the thurst bearing. The felt in the rear of the crank looked too long, so i cut it to about 1/4 inch. Crank was checked at two diffrent shops was fine for std. bearings. Now it seems I have the same problem,i pulled the pan, loosened the center main then took out the front main. After seeing the thurst eaten up, I tried to put front bearing back. Somthing is shoving the crank forward so hard the holes won't line up to put it back! I'm going to pull the engine sometime next week. Some one please tell me what could be pushing the crank forward with this much force ???????????? Keith

You might look at the pilot bushing in the end of the crank. If there is something in there, or maybe a loose bearing in the trans causing the drive shaft to be shoved forward maybe. Have the crank main bearing bores checked for being in line.
