Seems whenever I go to my local NAPA store I'm often the only customer . Guess not many guys do much themselves these days ? Just wonder if it's the same everywhere ? Thanks !!

Local Carquest is always busy.  Seems though as are correct in that younger people are 1) no longer interested in automotive machines  2) not interested in owning any where 3) have no interest in what takes to keep one operable.

Also clueless that EVs require ONLY their supplying dealers repair in any form, Local shops cannot find insurance that will even allow access to so much as inspect these for serviceability and licensing.

Local O’Reillys is always busy, Advance Auto Parts across the street almost always has empty parking lot. The local NAPA has 8-5 hours M-F, closed all day Saturday & Sunday.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

NAPA is not very busy, compared to O'Reilly's.  O'Reilly's has a better location than NAPA.
NAPA has excellent salesmen. They know how to find the right part.
NAPA does not have to look up what valve cap is needed for a 1983 F-250 4x4, T-19 transmission, 3.54 differential, semi-float rear axle, airconditioned, regular cab, am radio, no electric locks, no cruise control, no electric windows.
NAPA has good quality parts.  Many times, NAPA has the parts needed to keep farm equipment and trucks running.
O'Reilly's and Auto Zone can't find anything without looking it up on a computer.

NAPA and TSC seem to be the HIGH PRICE around here... Most people go to Auto Zone ... but yes... you have to draw them a picture to buy anything.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Napa sold and I lost my discount.
Now when I hear the price I give a mean look and they drop the price.
Recently I felt they priced a part high cause I was gonna gripe. I did and they dropped the pride as I suspected.
I said I still couldn’t afford it. Before I got to the door he dropped the price again.

NAPA that I go to seems to always be about 3 deep at every counter person, and have several delivery vehicles running steady.

our local NAPA and O'Reillys are both fairly busy, but if you want something odd or for something more than 5 years old, you had better look it up yourself before you leave home. I have some of the old paper catalogs from a NAPA that was switching over to computers, comes in very handy hunting for things for these old tractors. I'm still in amazement over these kids they now employ that can't lookup or cross over a bearing or seal with all the computers they have on the counter.

NAPA stores are all independent, not that one person cannot own more than one. The local is part of 2 or 3.  The owner sets the prices, no idea of if stores can get discounts of any kind.  The in person business is not to busy in the local NAPA, but they have 3 or 4 people delivering parts to different shops around.

I am happy with the NAPA store so have not been to any other for 3 or 4 years. But I don't run much any more ether so I don't break stuff ether.

They have several old guys, but 2 of the young ones try and one is into tractor restoration which also helps. Have had several girl over the years that knew a lot too.
