Had 6-8 here and it was needed badly.  Was around 30 and wet as could be with hardly any wind, maybe 15mph.  Its a start, since last June we've had one .75 rain first of sept.  Other than that a handful of .1-.2 showers, it's ugly dry.  Hopefully as wet as it was it had a inch of moisture.  Just need it to soak in the warm ground.

  I am going to say we have had a good 3" so far today and it's just 1:00 PM and supposed to snow till 6:00 PM this evening and they was only calling for 1" to 3"

 Not going to thank you we have 5 1/2" when I went and ran the snow blower yesterday and got another 1" or so over night. It is pretty outside by it's a wet heavy snow no wind haven't heard of a electric being out from trees falling
