Almost 80 degrees here today. The D17D front frame and hubs are nice and orange. Sent the radiator off to be boiled and rodded out yesterday...

I wish I was getting something done. Cleaned out the creek crossing this morning so I could plow today. But low and behold I pulled a mussel in my lower back. Nothing will get done now for days.

I got my wc pedistal assembled with new bearings and seals. I was given another broken pedistal but the big shaft and spindle block were perfect so I put them in mine. I got the bearings packed and one hub on it. The other had no hub cap and it needs bearings.

How can a person get anything done when the white s#it keeps falling from the sky.  It's in the low 30's and a mix between snow and rain with a raw wind.  Late last week/early this week tore into several projects found out what parts I needed and now that I got them it is too wet, muddy, and misearble to work on anything if is not already in the shop.  All I have that I can work on is refilling the 6080 diff/hydro oil.  I had to get the 7080 out to move the livestock trailer around with feeded pigs in it the pick-up would way have been stuck.

I spent about 6 hours each of  sanding the epoxy primer on these two wheels and gave them 2 fresh coats of acrylic urathane primer surfacer. A final sanding in a week or so , then the color.  WC  is gonna look snazzy with these in creme with 16.9X28's.

Not much tractor work but been busy plowing and tilling the garden. I had to do most of my tractor work in the cold because once it warms up, i need to use it.

Got my Bush Hog mostly finished. Still needs welds gone over with a hotter welder and cut a couple pieces off. Might even shoot it with paint later but, it's a working BushHog so it might not. Sharened the blades, too, they were dull as my finger last year when I used it ! I was gonna make a separate post for this but this post works. Here is a short video showing it lowering and raising back up. Sorry for the wind noise.

Must be nice.  It snowed here in Michigan today.  We've been 10 to 12 degrees below average all 'spring'.

I got the culvers chopped out so the flood waters can flow away , and rebuilt the transfer case in my plow truck. No tractor work since I put new wheels and tires on the WD45 two weeks ago.

I drove the 210 out to the farm yesterday, got into the fluids and filters today, lights and tach are to come. Got to get wheels and tires on the 45 as long as its in the shop also. Still a little cool and wet here in SW WI to get anything done unless I want to be making ruts and get pulled out. Been a long winter here and really cant wait for some nice weather.

We had 16" of snow here Friday so part of yesterday was spent moving it.
The LP gas tank for my shop heat is getting low (below 15%) and we had a delivery to our house tank (100#) last week. i told the driver not to put any in the shop tank as the price was $5.13/ gal. Gonna have to find a cheaper way. Hope to get into the shop some tomorrow to continue on the G i'm restoring. Just finished making maple syrup last week. The best sap run anyone can remember. I had some individual taps produce 5 gallons of sap in one day. Bob@allisdowneast
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure.

Managed to grade mine and neighbors driveway, hauled a load of shop stuff out of the basement, (honey-do), and most of all, got the front axel of the U apart.

Got a new mail box put up.  Graded driveway and smoothed some ant hills in the restored prairie after the burn off.  Added some black dirt to the garden, and filled some holes around a culvert across a spring, so I can mow the fire breaks around a six acre patch of prairie.  Moved some machinery around.
Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

Got the tires off of my F & H spoked 24" rims on Saturday.   Took a small load of scrap parts in the back of the truck and dropped it off and then went to the feed mill.   Ground corn, and mixed chicken food today and got my one garden tractor in to try and fix and oil leak on it.   New front cover seal and some silicone and a prayer and it might actually run without spewing oil everywhere.   Otherwise it is new engine time.  Cleaned up some more of the garage today.   Still behind schedule and the D19 I bought in December is still on the trailer awaiting a split and a clutch.    Now the yard is so muddy I am hoping for a cold spell to freeze things up so I can move it over and put it on the concrete and proceed with the clutch job.

We couldn't be much farther apart and both still be in the UP. I'm just a few miles west of I75, between the Soo and St.Ignace.

It looks like as soon as I get the radiator back from the shop I'll be ready for the first start up. Front frame paint is mostly dry already. I'll probably put the frame on Tuesday night. I got the fuel system fully primed by spinning the pump drive gear until fuel leaked from each injector line.

I got my drive graded off 3 weeks ago, hauled my junk car to the scrap yard last week. I've been pulling fence on the south side of the house and trying to get the yard cleaned up before I have to start working on a mower. Grass has grown an inch just today. I've had Lena in the garage for a week and have only looked things over as to what needs to  be done to finish her. Don't seem like that will ever get done. Sure glad our snow is gone and I hope it stays gone cause I got my years growth of hair chopped off Friday.

Brian, I have your 3 point hitch setup on my tractor. I have all the turnbuckles loose to turn by hand. That took a fair amount of penetrating oil and heating but they all work, easy, now.

Windy as hell but 80+ degrees in southern Illinois. I am repainting the front rims on my D17. After sandblasting and primer I masked off the area between silver and cream paint. First coats of silver are on!! Also mowed grass for the first time. We are expecting some strong storms tonight. Ryan

Yesterday I got startied taking the leanto off the old barn, but today the wind was blowing so hard that it was dangerous to be outside. Went to town today and got some new work shirts and a couple of tools that I needed. Worked on the backhoe an hour or so tonight. Filled up the dually with gas, first time since 10/22/2011, $100!

Rebuilt the overrunning clutch on the Hesston 1060 diskbine today. Next is the hydraulics on the 190XT, keeps losing prime. I'll change the seal in the pump when I can find one. Then it will be rebuilding the garden tractor engine.

I got some peas planted today. I used the B to work up the ground where I dug the potatoes last year. It was fairly loose. Last week I remove a tire from the D14, from a very rusty rim, and mounted it on one that I had bought and painted. Got it back on the 14. Yesterday I worked on the D14 engine, installed the flywheel and clutch and it is ready to mount this coming Saturday, After I install a new throw out bearing that is. Bob

Harrowed chips in the meadow this weekend. It was a blast me on my B and two fighter jets dogfighting on the horizon for about an hour. We live in a area where every now and then pilots in training fly. I assume they are F16s, I'm not up on my aircraft.

Finished up planting the last 1800 onions.  It went so well with my new rig, I'm thinking of buying another 30 bunches.....

I also got most of my new tractor tore apart.  Pulled what's left of the motor out, took off the seat, gas tank support, drawbar, and rear wheels.

Put one of the rear wheels on my $100 WD that I bought last year.  I also replaced the bad front with one of the wheels I got yesterday, pumped the other up and it held air.  If it rains tomorrow, I may put it in the shop and prep it to run....it is loose.

Still had time to watch Junior finish second....bummer, the race was 2 laps too long!

Still stuck lyin flat on my back with this herniated disc... surgery on Tuesday, so as soon as i can move, Ill be makin up time.  I DID pull my son up alongside the bed and design a solar-powered power-vent to evacuate ammonia/methane  fumes from the hen-house, got parts list made, abd parts ordered, and he learned how to read part specs and pick appropriate parts...  good skill for a 9-yr-old.
