This weekend I brought home a WD, that I thought for sure would be a parts tractor, as it has been sitting outside for some time.  Tonite I got to tinker with it for the first time.  Put a pipe wrench on the hand crank as I couldn't find my hand crank lever, and it didn't want to turn but with a little bit of a pull, she popped free and cranks over good by hand.  Front tires are good, rear are matched, dry cracked but ok.  Rear fenders are all beat up.   Front tin is good.  Tractor is complete with starter, generator, and distributor conversion.  I don't think it would take too much to get it going.   The only bad things I see on it, is the blocked is cracked behind the carb, and repaired and not leaking.  Also throttle quadrant is broke on hyd. lever side, but piece is there so it could be repaired.  Fan blade rubs on shroud on side of radiator, so that will need to be addressed.  Also eccentric bolts are buggered up and a bigger nut is welded over them.  Gas tank looks clean.   I haven't done anything to it, other then bring it home and see if it was free.  It will need some work, but I hate to part out a tractor that with some work, will be a good runner again.  I don't want to sell it just to have someone else part it out.   It would be nice to sell it as a 4H project or a project for some young kid who is looking for the right project to get into tractors.  I am going to post it on here, as well as YT and craigslist.  If I don't get any interest, I will start to tinker on it and see if I can get it going but if I do, then I will try to sell again but for whatever else in parts I had to stick into it.  As it sits right now, I would like to get $400 for it, which I think is more then fair considering what scrap is at, and we all know it's worth way more then that if I part it out.  I just don't have the heart to do it to this one, as the guy who owned it that passed away, this tractor was his fathers first tractor on the farm and was the only tractor for many years.    Here is one picture of it.  Email me or PM me with any interest.

Yea, Adam they came getting more and more dinged up.  I found replacement fenders for 20 a side, but then I would feel bad the first ding they get.  These are just thin metal.  I was thinking of bending a piece of rebar and welded it to the front for strength.  I don't have any reason to drive to OH.  Maybe someone is coming that way empty and can haul for cheap.

Adam, Them fenders look like mine. I had a guy loading my trailer with a JD skid loader with a grapple. He did it for free so I had to bite my lip. This is what he was putting on the trailer. I got ten loads from him.

Well, we all know checks are only worth the paper they are written on.  Once the check clears, she can go away home to the new owner.  I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but definately not the dullest either!!
