Any history with Vermeer and allis chalmers? Iseen a culitivator that looked like a allis and a planter that looked just like a deutz allis?

Allis-Chalmers and Vermeer, no. Deutz-Allis and Vermeer, yes. Vermeer was contracted to build implements for D-A from about 1985 until AGCO bought out D-A. I've hauled planters and field cultivators and discs out of Vermeer in the past.

. Vermeer's original product was a copy of the AC rotobaler but designed to make large round bales and reduce farm labor. So that is where the commonality connection may reveal itself. There would be no Vermeer without AC. .

Vermeer Corporation was founded in 1943. Allis-Chalmers introduced the Roto-baler in 1947. Vermeer introduced the large round baler in 1971. There was a story that Vermeer wanted to market their large round baler thru Allis-Chalmers but Allis wasn't interested as they were (at that time) getting out of the hay business.
