They are an interesting bird. We have a 3/4 acer pond behind our house with a few fish in it. Great Blues eat fish. So for that reason only I chase the Great Herons off.

OG, fantastic pics! my wife and daughter are amateur photographers. we are fortunate to have a state park 5 min's from us with bald eagles, blue heron, kingfishers, and lots more. wife and daughter spend a lot of VERY early mornings trying to get shots like yours. One of my favorites is a kingfisher just breaking the water on a dive my wife took
