What size tires are on the front? Wish I could work on mine but with no heated shop minus degrees it will have to wait. Yours is coming along nicely!
Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

Steve,
Happy New year too!
Do you have a snow plow for one of your herd?
We could use one. About 2 feet plus on the ground and its coming down at a rate of a inch per hour right now. Heading to Tractor supply to get a 5/8 pin for a snow plow (back blade) now. For the WD45 at Kelly's.
I may have to post some pictures for you:) Just so you can see how some us us live or survive!
Regards,
Chris

Thise radiator shrouds sure did take a beating. Mine has the same crumpled dents, and I left them in mine too.

Nice work! Thanks for sharing. All my work has come to a screeching halt too.

You the man when it comes tp sheetmetal repair.  One thing I never learned to do was weld.   Raised 2 boys that are expert welders  both stick and wire. Youngest is putting new floors in my  52 willys Pickup restoration.  When he does stuff like this it is better and stronger than  when new.    Youngest  makes his living doing Auto Restoratiion Work. Oldest boy is a rig welder with his own truck.
If you need any C or C parts I still have a pretty good stash of good useable used parts. Kenny

Chris,
Not quite ready for reassembly.  Getting there though.  Sorry to poke fun about the weather.  I know I have it good here in Florida.  However, I would like to experience some snow like that one day.  Stay warm!

Steve,
The season changes really make us hate winter more and appreciate the summers!:) Better for you to just look at it from afar!
Off to plow the drive again. And get the new battery in the 45.
Have you tried any of the high fill primers for rust pits? I want to try some in the future, if I ever paint another tractor.
Regards,
 Chris

Snap on is the only place I have been able to find the caping chisel you mention.  They call them bushing cutters, but same thing.  Work slick, drive them between the bushing and the wall of the hole.  Cut the bushing, and take it out.
My father had one and I recall the first time I used it to take a bushing out of a blind hole I was amazed how easy it was.
Price on their online catalogue is only about 11.00 US

Small steps.  Cleaned the hydraulic pump and got a new seal for it.  Will reassemble after paint dries.  Steering box was in excellent shape, so I just cleaned it and painted it.  Notice the hump in the middle of the shaft sleeve.  Previous owner made a nice repair to rust through and I saw no need to change it.  Looks like a snake ate a big rat.

Steve / Hubnut, do you still need spindles for the front axle? I think I have two sets that were in pretty good condition... Have to go dig through some snow to get to them... but they are there I think.
PM or whatever...

Looks great! Keep it up. Smile

A good way to fill big dents that you don't want spend a lot of time on or can't get to the back side to knock it out is to get some cage mesh wire (about 3/8 sq.). Cut a piece to fit the dent, put on your filler and press the mesh into it. It works just like wire mesh in concrete. Depending how deep the dent you may have to add additional layers. In this case I use a product called Alumilead. Real dense and tough as the dickens. Works good though. I sand it with real course paper and then finish with a thin top coat of filler. You can blast your corroded places then fill them being careful to get it to the bottom of the hole. You'll have no problems with it for many years to come.

Got warm enough to get the remainder of the chassis painted.  It was very dry so the paint went on really nicely.  One or two runs, but it's getting there.

Steve,
Back of B looks awesome! Man does fresh PO look good! Don't worry about those runs, I bet the factory had some too! So your just trying to make it look authentic!:)
Also, when you get this far, there is not turning back now!
I am not going to say anything about the weather, temperature, paint drying, or the viewing of the sun!:) Ok just a little!
Its snowing enough I can't see the woods behind the house, we were about zero last night.
I did go to Kel's and fired up the WD45!

I really think you need a CA next!!!!
Regards,
 Chris

Thanks everyone for the comments.  I cleaned the rear rims today, then sanded them and painted them silver metallic (Rustoleum).  One tire is a 9-24, the other is 11.2-24.  Can't afford new tires for this old gal at the moment.  She'll have to keep wearing her old shoes for a while.  I have a few small things to paint then I can reassemble.  This turned out to be a very nice tractor.

I understand about the rubber cost. I need some tires changed/ replaced and not looking forward to the cost.
Start looking for that CA!
