How do these machines work for bailing corn stalk bales? anyone tried this before? any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

Matt, I don`t think they would work very well. One of the last times I used one in straw there was a lot of rag weeds and they would go thru the belts and trip the latches, so it looked like I was using a conditioner. "Burgie"

I have baled cornstalks with a roto baler. Like Burgie said you have to keep the latches clean. What I found that worked is actually go over your cornstalks twice with the chopper. This chops them up fine enough so that they are comparable to baling hay.

I used to work for a guy that custom baled(big rounds) for a good many locals. He had a New Idea Cutditioner. I don't think a flail type can be beat for cornstalks and we could windrow at the same time. I'll bet it would really help out specially if you chopped it once and then windrow it.
