Any recommendations on which of the Allis planters makes the best candidates for two or three row mounted units for food plots or large gardens? |

78 series, but have the blower. The seed discs will plant ungraded seed corn and sweet corn with ex small or small or med small corn plates - beans with soybean or cotton discs or there are milo plates .. Any air system that will provide 2 wc " of pressure. You can get a blower - if the air planter ones are bad through NAPA sr1291 or pm357 . The issue is seed plates and non graded seed corn - with plate units it is hard to plant corn w/o skips and doubles. For light seed like sweet corn cut a heavy cardboard or plywood cap to place in the bottom of the hopper to keep air from blowing seed up when almost empty. You will also have to have a selection of sprockets as in 8 10 12 14 18 to come close to the setting you need.
You ask for 'best' - any of the others will work .. |

I was thinking something a bit simpler. Like a 333 or ???? Straight press wheel driven with a variety of seed plates? There was a thread about these planters a year or so ago, but now can't find it. Seems to me the gist of it was yields accomplished using that planter were at the top of the charts.
