I HAVE FINALLY GOT ME A 1948 C
MY QUESTION IS WHAT IS BEST WAY TO CLEAN AIR FILTER ELEMENT, IT'S VERY DIRTY. THE TRACTOR HAS BEEN PAINTED AND DON'T WANT TO SOAK IT IN ANYTHING THAT WILL HARM THE PAINT.  THANKS AN THIS IS A GREAT SITE. JW

I wasn't worried about the paint on mine, so I just sprayed everything down really well with brake parts cleaner and blew it out really well with the air hose. That is for the screens in the intake stack and such. The oil bowl got a good scaping/wiping out to get the dirt that collected in the bottom of the bowl out(there was a lot), then more brake cleaner wiping with a rag, and blowing out with air. Filled back up with oil, and no problems. Just remember to dump it out frequently, and cleaning is easy.
