should be right near the gear shift lever. Right above the 1 and 2.

Once you find the number look on this site and there is a serial number listing that will show you the year of the unit.

And when you find the ser#(it should be right there where the pic shows it, first letter should be Bxxxx) check the serial number cross reference on this site, then come back on and let us know what you have. There is someone on here who can answer any question you may have about it, and will be happy to direct you to the right place for any parts/services you may need for it.

I think there is also a engine number if you care about such details but I admit I never have checked mine.

Rick, I didn't check mine on my C until a few weeks ago. When I did, I found out that my 1946 C had a 1940/41 Kerosene B engine in it. It did not have the Kerosene manifold, or any of the other Kerosene stuff. The hood was for Kerosene with the hole for the starter tank, but it was a power unit hood. Sometimes stuff gets all jumbled up, but it all works just like it should. Amazing little machines.

I have a 1945 Allis Chalmers C (aka: Clyde) that I currently use but will be refurbishing hopefully this year. I just purchased another Allis Chalmers that I believe is a B but I'm not certain. The serial number is 1419 but I don't see any other numbers or a letter preceeding the number. Can anyone help? Thank you!
