Has anyone tried to use a rough terain fork lift to move boulders. Have 8000lb + boulders would like to build a wall. was looking at a old off road forklift to do it. don't want to spend the cash. if it will not work. They are a little hard to resell |

My D15 forklift has a 5000# lift capacity. It is old and tired enough that I doubt it will lift that much. I usually keep to 3000# or less. It does great with a 3000# seed pallet.

My 706 series rough terrain forklift says its max lift is 6000 lbs. I am thinking that you may want to hire a portable wheel crane for a few days? The 8000+lb boulder could end up being 10,000-12,000 once out of the ground?
