Are you 100% positive you have the air bled out of the system?   160’s can be a bear to bleed out.

I agree, they can be difficult to get the air out. John tried my suggested procedure last year and apparently it didn’t help. It works every time for me when I change the oil/filter but for some reason it didn’t help John. If I remember correctly Mack suggested loosening the Allen head screw on the side of the valve body that sits on top of the pump? I’ve never tried that. Hopefully Mack will respond to verify.
John, sounds like I’m about 1 1/2 hours from you. PM me your cell info and I will jump on the Harley one day and come see you. It would be a pretty ride. Like to help you resolve the issue.

And yes we are very dry. Production is way down for sure. If we don’t get some rain soon there won’t be a second cutting. We are officially in a drought here.

ac720man i put a new pump on last year everything was doing good was running haybine . then the next time i hooked up it would not lift the haybine head up until then everything was fine.  first thing i did was check relief spring i was going to put in another one but agco doesn't have them call all the dealers around here no body has one . So i have some free time  so i was going to work on it again. Like i said dad brought it new would like  to get it working . Now my other 160 all  i did was but on a new pump and have no trouble from it about 10 years ago

Any chance your only problem is bad "worn out" remote couplers on tractor  or haybine?

I know years ago, my 200 all of the sudden wouldn't lift a disc harrow. Finally put new  couplers on the tractor and  disc and it worked.

I replaced mine as well Ky-Allis when I first bought mine. They were leaking but that’s a good recommendation. I always put Pioneer ball couplers on, 4155 if I remember correctly.
