I found a G model on craigslist near me and the guy says that he was told it ran, but doesn't know anything else about it.  The man that owns it has come down with Alzheimers disease and his brother is selling the tractors for him.  They are asking for offers.  He has 4 old john deere's , 1 farmall cub, and the allis G.  I was told they already had an offer of 1600 on the G.  Is that about right?  What would be a good price to pick one up for?
As far as I can tell, the sheet metal is good and tires look pretty new.

Here's the link

Thanks,

Richard

$1600 would be a steal.

I canttell from the Craigslist photo if this tractor has hydraulics.  If it does, anything under $3,000 would be a great deal.  Be sure toask if the owner has any of the lift parts (front and/or rear) and/or any implements.

Don't really know the condition of this tractor -- but if the sheet metal is good and it runs ok - $1600 would indeed be a steal. Around here they could go for $2500 to $3500.  If it's near to you -- go drive it. If it checks out OK -- Pay cash and load her up!!

$1600 is cheap, if it runs I would buy it. I paid $900 for mine and didnt know the motor was stuck, ended with having $3500 in it, so I would jump on it.
