I purchased a 1948 M crawler a while back and I am starting to restore it. The M starts good and runs great. The steering clutches and brakes seem to work good going forward but when in reverse the left grabs and will not turn. The right side seems fine. Can anyone tell what the problem might be and maybe how to fix it. I do not have a manual for it yet.
Still looking for one. Thanks for any help in advance.

The left side track and drive locks up in reverse and will not turn, or the left steering clutch locks in reverse and will not release?

take off the left brake cover to see if the brake is hanging up in reverse or its a final drive issue.  might have bearings out.
