Ok, Had to stop work on the HD21B early today. My wife told me if I didn't start cookin on the AC BBQ she was going to dig it up and scrap it. Well it's been in the ground for 5 years and other than hot dogs and warming it' been pretty slack. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 015_zpstc0xjcaa.jpg
So, I built a fire in it. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 018_zps9ggfhkzj.jpg
Betcha didn't know you could get this much heat in an HD11 radiator. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 022_zpsnbyozar9.jpgSo knowing we might have to big of GRILL holes I did a recon to find something for grilling on. Came up with some stainless steel pieces that I re fabricated to look like this. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 025_zpsu29qmn4a.jpg
Didn't use the warming oven today. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 029_zpsx42q0g07.jpg
This was a 1 tri tip event. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 032_zpsnbst7uql.jpg
photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 033_zpsutzrkldv.jpg
So Hooch and I monitored the process photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 035_zpsnmpjepor.jpg
Rule of thumb that we live by here is "if it's smokin it's cookin if it's black it's done" photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 037_zpshnxx1wvs.jpg
Threw in some tatters too. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 039_zpsupho3tbv.jpg
And some more soppins photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 040_zpswlztcwsy.jpg
photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 043_zps0xtjggzq.jpg
Dinner is served. Maybe chicken next week? These old ACs just keep on giving back more fun. photo HD21 ALLIS CHALMERS BBQ 061_zpsaarfyup9.jpg

Neat!

I bet it works better than those John Deere grilles that we read about yesterday!

Silly Deere people, you can't cook on fiberglass!

Ok, we added a chicken and corn recipe to the AC BBQ cook book photo P5030024_zpsipfwrlte.jpg
The corn started out on top, but we also experimented with the warming oven photo P5030027_zpsrwvz3lol.jpg

 photo P5030029_zps0bnzi4kh.jpg
 photo P5030030_zpsbaz4y2ii.jpg
These are all work in progress recipes, so if they don't work the first time we'll COOK IT AGAIN. till it's done right. photo P5030033_zpstrum36bf.jpg
