Howdy!
New here to the forums, so I'll say in advance, thanks for any help!

So I recently got this Allis Chalmers 5030 and it has a PTO problem. When I put the PTO in drive, it will spin, but if you put any load on it at all (even a hand wrench) it will stop spinning. I think the overrunning clutch/bearing is toast. Is there an easy way to lock or weld it up and have an external one? Or do I need to take the entire transmission apart and everything? I would really like to avoid doing that if at all possible. Tractor itself runs and drives awesome.

Thanks again!

I just experienced this failure on my 5030.  I could not find a replacement one way clutch.  I eventually converted it to a direct PTO connection by buying parts from an AC tractor salvage yard.  I can now use my brush hog but if I need to stop in a hurry, I have to either shift to neutral or disengage the PTO or the brush hog will drive the tractor until it stops.  The one way clutch was nice but no longer available..
