Bought this non running tractor for not much.Got it running(fuel system issues),replaced front and rear tires, replaced oils and filters, installed a block heater, new starter, went through battery cables, repaired short in lighting system, repaired non working gauges.Repaired front axle from loader abuse.Has 1579 hours on a working meter.Used mainly for loader work as rest of tractor shows very little wear.

My only concern would be gear jumping with full time loader use. Lot of shifting back and forth. All depends on operator. My uncle bought a new 185 back when. Got to run it on a rotary hoe.

I would say to get used to using the power director before you start using it for hay work (assumption on my part, the tedder is in the background). I use a 190xt mainly, also have a 7000 and a 4430JD. I prefer the 190xt, and I think you will like your 185.

If you got that for cheap that’s a nice one!! They are nice tractors, hopefully the previous owner brought the tractor to a complete stop before shifting. Low hours if they are correct. Rops is a nice option to have.
