I'd mike the paper, and then (for example) Google .010 gasket paper, get a roll and cut it out myself.  They are easy enough, tape a slightly bigger piece of paper than you need to the pump, take a ball peen hammer and tap lightly around the edges, and at the bolt holes, and the paper is marked for cutting...Wink

the gasket should be as thin as possible without having the rotor drag the cover.. It might be 3-4 thousands.. You can put a straight edge across the case and measure the rotor depth with a feeler gauge.. .... if you use permatex you want a VERY THIN see thru layer on the gasket... normally you can soak the gasket in oil and Squeeze it  with the cover..

a piece of construction paper or note book paper might the the right thickness.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Dave,
Yes, I have done that with several gaskets in the past. Getting lazy.
But now would be the time to do it over. Story of my life.
Thanks for the input.
 Regards,

I smeared a very, very thin coating (like Steve said) on the pumps for my WD. Yes, plural... I rebuilt the original pump and then lucked into a much nicer shape AGCO retrofitted version so I went through it too before putting it back together. I used an old school shellac after flattening the bottom plate as much as I could with glass and a sheet of sandpaper.

Disclaimer... it's not running yet, ha. You're still way farther ahead of me on this CA than I am on my WD that keeps falling to the backburner. And I have a CA project that needs to go into the shop sooner rather than later. I can't wait to see your tractor back in tip top shape!

Guys,
Thanks for the ideas and support on the CA oil pump. I mean it is the heart of the system. I am great for doing things twice, or maybe even three times! So I may pull it off and clean it up again and start over I also got some good advice from a CA expert. That's what I like about this forum. Great suggestions, and recommendations! I should ask before I act. But that's not like me. More like the bull in the China shop!
Regards,
 Chris and Cheryl
