I have a 52' CA that I'm restoring. I am working on a wide front and installing new spindle bushings, etc and noticed that my axle knees are almost 12" tall and have no steering stops.I knew this tractor appeared higher in the front than most CA's I've seen. Can anyone tell me why? Is it a dealer option to get more ground clearance for crops? Anyone else seen this type axle? Thanks

Most likely one of the "Cane" tractors. Does your CA have 36" rear tires? Post some pictures of it.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Thanks. That has been mentioned to me but I only have the axle as evidence. Was their any other options that would support the claim of it being a "cane tractor"? I want to put it back to its original intent. I also figure those bigger wheels may be difficult to come by???

Note the LENGTH goes from the axle bearing up to about the TOP of the tire... or about 1/2 the diameter of the front tires...

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Thanks Steve. I may just have an odd ball axle that a dealer put on to sell. Who knows. Gotta do some measuring, because it may take some taller tires/rims to level it out. The axle knees are definitely not as tall as the one at bottom. Thanks again
