My 45 B has this stamped behing the shift pattern on my Trans.   427 I    Anyone know what this might mean?

Is that stamped at the Tractor No. location or not? A picture might help.

Could be a previous owner(maybe a county) stamped an identifying number on for their records.

if it a 4271  it could be the serial
number witch would make it an
1938

the serial number is at its proper place above the shift pattern, this number is below the shift pattern
