Could someone point me in the right direction for a seal kit for the mast on my 840 forklift? It is a 14' lift. I was hoping to order the kit and have it on hand to minimize down time. I dont have it in front of me now, but I think the parts book shows 100536-39 as the number, but I'm not having any luck finding it. I've rebuilt quite a few cylinders, but never a forklift mast. Anything to watch for especially or should I just take it to the shop to begin with? Thanks

Adam: Late to reply here, but wondering if the seals for that lift would be the same as the other 14' lift cylinders on the 500 and 600 series forklifts. I have parts book available for the 500 and 600 rough terrain AC lifts and could cross reference if that would help.

On my mast cylinder a shop quoted between $600 and $1500. with them supplying the seals and the labor. I did get a seal kit from someone. (I will have to try to remmeber who). Ha d a guy that knew way more than me do the job for $150 and I provided the seal kit and some labor.
Best to get the numbers off the side of the mast too. Stamped about head high on the right side on mine. Good luck. Maybe you got it done by now? Regards, Chris |

Thank you both for replying. I generally put in seal kits myself when I can and dont like long waits and down time. I also dont like paying shop labor for jobs I can do. It wasnt that long ago we didnt have a forklift and now we hate to be without one! Since I couldnt find a seal kit, I bit the bullet and took it to a shop. Took a little over a week and (i dont remember for sure) but somewhere around $400 total. Seems to be in good shape now and glad its done thanks again for replying
