If you look close, you can see a tail of red fire out the pipe. I'd guess it was a Power Director and for sure the torque limiter is bolted down solid. Probably 350 to 400 HP without knowing all that's been done to it.

New to this forum and low and behold i see my tractor. Dont know who put it on youtube. Its a PD you can here it shift from 3rd high to 3rd high lo,T limiter is 6pad with doubled 7080 springs little thicker. American bosch 430cc 4000 rpm stock inj cut .024 stock lines put center dump ex man off UNI on with 3LM turbo. Pulled with non ported ex man then spent 20hrs porting and angeling pulled again big difference in power and flame.
Pulled in 18500 duels but FWD still too heavy going to TWD & 12000. Internally eng stock but will be porting head bigger valves &bigger wheel in turbo . I was hopeing over 400 hp in video?

Yep stock 3lm, good qeustion my gauge only goes to 37. When i come off line at only  3200 rpms it buries it, looks to be about 42 if there were more lines, defenitly need bigger gauge.

If you are planning on installing a larger compressor wheel on the stock 3LM, I would advise against it. I had a buddy do that years ago and with the stock compressor wheel it ran good. With the bigger compressor wheel it was a turd.
The stock 3LM is a pretty good turbo, but there are a few other better, newer, more efficient turbo's out there of the same size that would smoke a 3LM airflow wise.  I would pick another turbo long before spending any money on a 3LM.

The stock 3LM 466 has a 2.32" inlet and around 2.75" outlet. If you are staying with close to those sized wheels there is a Borg Warner S300, a Garret GT37 or GT40, and a Holset HX40. I'm sure there are more than that, but those are a few I am somewhat familiar with. I am most familiar and partial to the Holsets. With his fuel delivery he may be able to spin an HX 45, HX 52 with a 63mm or smaller compressor, or smaller HX 50 - it just depends on which compressor wheel and turbine housing he would chose as there are a few choices of each for each model turbo. The HX 40 would be a safe bet and would out perform the old 3LM. It would definetly move more air and probably lug better.

Most rules around here call for stock apearring or 3lm max on, some of those turbos couldnt use my difuser or 7080 elbow. Im planning on going from 2.3 to 2.5 garret or holsetand wont mess with ex side. I still have 3 point on maybe should do some speed plowing, funny video on yootoob of swedes almost rolling.

There have been many HX50 Holset center sections installed into a 3LM exhaust housing. A wolf in sheeps clothing so to speak. Never had one but I here they work very well. Any reputable pump and turbo shop can machine the housing to accept the smaller 2.8" out  hx50 exhaust wheel.

I'm not too educated on turbocharges but I find it amusing that my friend uses an innovative t61 on his motorcycle right now and plans to step up to a GT40 in the future. 1.3 liter four banger. 550hp. Turbo technology is taking huge steps forward. Its great.

Theres a turbo page B+W maybe that has a page with charts breaking down the sizes and MM measurements :as popular as the 5.9 Cummins is you can pick up pretty cheap 40,s+ 50,s that are still good, cause ive found that turned up tractor pullin wrecks them any way!

I really like the S300 that is 2.36" as an upgrade from a 3LM. Night and day difference! I sell quite a few of them. Modern technology using a bleed groove(MWE). If you were to watch some of my videos, you can tell right when I took my 2.5" 3LM off and put the S300 on, cleaned up the smoke quite a bit. It's a $600 turbo too!

Question for Ed? What are the outside dimensions on that 300s because right now the inlet housing of my 3lm  is pushing on my side hood. Also is there enough room get that v band to fit into my 7080 elbow?

The compressor housing is about the same size as a 3LM. The v band on the S300 gets turned down for my tractor, so I can slip my IH cast elbow right over it.
