Hello, First off I would like to say that I am new to the board. Im 18 and I live in Northern Michigan. I have a 1942 WC (styled) that has been in our family for the past decade or so. The tractor wasn't running when we got it and it is really a basket case but it dose have a chance of a re-build which is what i hope to do in the near future. It was bought from a farmer who had the tractor for its whole life. He used to plow with it in the winter and one night he left it out and did not put the heated dip stick in it that night. He started it in the morning and it quit. never to run again. The Oil pump burned up and it spun the cam and crank. I was wondering if anyone knows where abouts in Michigan or Northern Michigan, for that fact, that sells tires and rims and parts for reasonable prices. I actually need rims for now to move it in and out of the shop to work on it. Any info I could get, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bob.

First of all, welcome to the Allis Family. Gary in da UP posts on here often, he might know of some people up by you that may have some parts. There is someone in Cornell, WI, don't know how far away from you that is that sells alot of tractor parts on ebay. Otherwise, post on here on what you are looking for and there's alot of people that can help out.

Welcome to the forum Bob. I'm a little far south to be of any real help. Just wanted to say hi. If you are new here, here are a couple of pointers. It may take a day or two for you to get the information you want, but you will get it. There are people on this forum that know every aspect of every product that Allis-Chalmers tractor division ever built. This is by far the most well informed site that I know of.
Another thing you need to do if you need information is to keep your post up toward the top of the list. If you come on and your post is far down the list without a lot of replies, you can "bump" it back to the top by openning it and typing something in the quick reply area at the bottom here. When you submit, it will bring your post back to the top.
It also helps to draw attention to your post by making the topic interesting. Feel free to use humor, as long as it's clean. This is a family site.
I once started an off-topic post with the topic line "the F word". It was a question about a Farmall. LOL!

Welcome Bob! We are delighted to have another who is interested in restoring an Allis Chalmers WC - the best selling tractor Allis Chalmers made.
Sounds like you have a real project on your hands. Do not hesitate to ask for help. Everyone here will be more than happy to be of whatever assistance they can.

Bob,
Welcome to the family of Orange! As the guys already mentioned, there is more information on Allis-Chalmers here than in a Library! If you need to know somethin', you'll learn bout' it right here! Your WC looks like Ole' Hercules my WC. Mine is a 43' vintage with same similar cut-off flat spoke wheels on the rear. Good luck with your rebuild. Before you know it, you'll have it running, especially if you stick around here for a while! Have fun!

Thanks Steve. Yea she was built with steel wheels, but when the need for rubber tires set in, it was so much easier for a farmer to cut the spokes and weld them to a new rim. Eventually I will need all new rims and tires but if i can just get one rim for the other side, i should be able to move her around to and from the shop. The other rim is rotted completly. I think its from the calcium chloride that farmers used to put in their tires. I hope to get her goin. I have alot on my oplate now with school, but I hope to get her done as a side hobby. First and foremost, welcome to the forum!!!!
That WC is cool!!!! Thank you for saving it!!!! The world needs to keep as much orange as possible.
I wouldn't say that your old Allis is a basket case. I've seen far, far, far worse. At least you are starting with a complete tractor...not everyone can say that.
Keep your chin up with the restoration, and remember how much you are learning.

Here are some pictures. I have the whole tractor. Some parts are in the garage and not on her. The tractor in the back ground is a parts WC that really has no parts to it. Like I said, A basket Case, but it can happen.
