Bought this tractor a year or so ago. Mainly to mow, but have a 14' disk as well. Haven't used it a ton, my kids mainly run it.
Couple things...it's not leaking anywhere I can see, but it always seems short on hydraulic & transmission fluid.
The bigger issue is (the clutch works great) but when disking today it would just stop. I could put it in another gear and then run it for 10 or so minutes...then it would once again just stop. NOT popping out of gear...just not moving. I'd checked the oil level in the transmission and hydraulics. Running just standard hy-tran tractor oil. Anyone seen anything like this before? Thanks in advance.

Power Director may be slipping, try it in both low & high with disc see if it does it in both or just 1.
Hydraulic / transmission fluid does not evaporate very fast so if both get low you have 2 leaks. Find a clean bare place to park it after use. You'll have oily spots on the ground after its left parked overnight after use.

Ok...I'll check.
It doesn't leak. I was parked on the concrete for 3 weeks while I got the seat situation fixed and...nothing. (Long story...everything here is waiting on something else. I put external vinyl on an old 8000 series seat an made a mount to put it on the 175.) I had it in 3rd and it stopped. Went to 2nd same result. Then had it in 5th then quit. |

Foot clutch is slipping. Place the PTO in gear and when the tractor stops, I'll bet the PTO is also stopped. Good chance the clutch pedal has zero free-play.

Do like Dr says, you have to figue out if the foot clutch or the hand clutch is slipping. The PTO will continue to run if even if the power director is slipping

The chances of a 175 Power Director slipping on BOTH low and high sides is very small, like nearly impossible.
It almost sounds like the operators have the Power Director lever in neutral getting by with the "creeping" until the oil gets hot.

Waiting for a response on the no-move issue.

I'm betting the Power Director clutch was never locked fully into either high or low range.
