Guys,
Couple ?'s:
1.Using the All-Crop as a stationary thresher....does the inevitable uneven hand feeding of crop hinder performance at all? I would guess not, but I have read it that on a traditional combine, the desire is too keep the cylinder nicely filled for best performance...
2.Anybody have an high lift attachement for the 60 or 66? Might want to offer that; a template would be nice to borrow/buy. (Not needed right now; just thinking for the future)

I hand fed about 3/4 of a gravity box of cob corn from a food plot I harvested with a corn picker (no combine would fit in the gate) into my dad's JD 4400 earlier this year. It did a good job considering the corn was just junky deformed little cobs. Guy wanted it harvested and paid me to do it, and I got to keep the corn! If the pickup head I used didnt have the spikes for picking up grassy type crops and had the flaps to flip the ears into the feeder house like a corn head does it would have worked great. Only bad part is cleaning up the pile it leaves on the ground. That was a lot of cobs!
I would say if you had 2 guys feeding the machine steady so it basically never broke the stream of crop it would work best. It will work with just one person, you'll just get better threshing results when the machine has a steady, even feed of crop. Edited by Roddo - 04 Jan 2011 at 3:55pm |

Curt,
Well if ya got one, I'd consider it...
But Bob J (Wi) is waiting for me to pay for that pickup attachment, And Mr Aiken would like me to buy a parts machine..would have to take care of these two Gentleman first!
Hmm sound like a road trip...drop the trailer off in Ohio and Rich's He loads the combine on the trailer(Thanks Rich! What a guy!) while I got to Bobs and you if you got one...hook up the trailer on the way back.....Oh yeah!!!!

Oh yeah, then I got this nag who wants me to make decals....
Actually Ryan, depending on how things shake out this week, I just may make one....thinking about the big "All Crop" one and the little model number; on those start out with the 60....66...then finally MUCH LATER the 72..LOL! Edited by TomYaz - 04 Jan 2011 at 7:26pm |

Ryan you can try him. Word of caution, I dont think his big All-Crop decal is the right colors. The all-crop label image on the top of my webpage is a scan of of his label-- beige or light tannish (I think) is where the orange should be.
