Tom, Yesterday I could not get the pulley off the reel shaft.  The set screw seems to be gone.  I got aout a wheel puller, but that will ot work as the shaft is hollow at least on the end.  My son says the shaft is bent and we might want to replace it.  Any thought on straightening it, or replacing it.  If the shaft is hollow all the way through, could we drive a steel rod through it to straighten it and maybe strengthen it?  We have some time before that's an issue, in the mean time I'm taking the real apart one bolt at a time and taking pictures as I go.

Jeffery, great picture, Nice day here but my back has decided it does no0t like me.  I managed to get the stalls cleaned and spent some time looking at the combine.   There is sprocket about half way between the right wheel and the one on the bin, I'm not sure what it's for.  It does not drive anything.  If it is to tension the chain then I'm not sure how it works.  My other idea is that it left over from the conversion form bagging to bin.

The shaft and sprocket under the bin is what would have been the correct drive for a Big Bin 66, whether it was a bagger or bin combine. The sprocket and shaft that go through the bin is what was correct for a 60 or early 66 small bin, which is what your bin is from. You could use either one if all the parts are there.

Congrats on the purchase, I'm currently neck deep into an All-Crop 40, I've located some cheap canvas from Colby Canvas in Colby, Kansas. They have the original white canvas for 375.00 (at least original for the 40) or they have a rubber (not original but a lot cheaper) canvas that is 175.00 for the main draper. Good luck

We pulled the unloading auger and shoot off today What a load of junk came out some of it was pretty ripe.   As Tom told me, there is a revese threded not that holds the pulley etc on   There was on the back side what looked like an oil plug that once we got the auger out we could figure out any use for.  We're still a littled puzzeld about how the whole thigns was puth together.  we pulled the unloading shoot and it auger off in one piece .  To take the auger out of the shoot will be a trick with a hole in it.  But I'm hoping I don't have to take it complete apart.

Regie,

That "oil plug" is supposed to be a drain for the auger bowl. I find them always frozen on and the auger bowl corrodded.
If its not an All-Crop, it all crap!

You mean the sprocket between the bin and the header/cylinder?  If so, that is from the bagging unit.

Tom, if you looke at the side view picture you see the sprocket I'm talking about above the tire.  I think the sprocket was left over from the original big bin that the original owenr didn't want.
Re drain plug, it's frozen in there alright.  Was it thesir to drin water out of the bowl?

For who might be interested, I have 3 AC 66 combines for sale.  I bought them from an older gentleman along with a lot of other stuff, most of it salvage.  All three have been under the shelter and are dry.  The gentleman said two of them were working when parked several years ago.  I dread to see these machines go to salvage but I have to move them soon.  Scrap man has offered $1200 for the three and he will pick them up.  They are located near Fayetteville, North Carolina about 10 miles of I-95.  If someone can come get them, I will take $1200, same as the scrap man offered because as I said I do not like to see items like this cut up for scrap.   You can call me from 9am to 9pm on 919-222-2842

That scrap guy will go out of business offering that kind of money. Three 66's would bring maybe $1100 across the scale.
