We have a 6690. We love the air cooled engine. I can brush hog in 100 degree weather all day long and it never even thinks about getting hot on me. Very easy on fuel also. We have around 600 hours on ours and only had a minor fuel supply issue. I know resale would kill anyone on a trade in. We usually keep tractors for life, and its our only one with a cab!!!!

I have had a 6690 for about 9 months and really like it. I was warned there could be some electrical issues with this series of tractors and there been a few minor ones. Regardless, it is a great tractor.

I have a buddy who has a 6680 and it has been a very good tractor for them. I used it helping them farm a few times before my buddy was killed in a car wreck a year ago august and it was very good on fuel and comfortable to operate.. Overall it has been a very good tractor for them. They bought it new.

Ryan, it sure is nice not to have to worry about radiators, hoses, antifreeze, etc. My first introduction to air cooled was in 1989 when I bought a Deutz Allis 6250 FWA with loader. I wasn't familiar with Deutz but thought AC orange was gone and it was a great hard working utility tractor and I had no problems at all with it. I decided last winter I need a tractor with a cab and ran across a '95 6690 FWA with loader and 1100 hours. I'm not a full time farmer and probably didn't need this much hp but this is a nice tractor and I'm lovin' the cab. I'm a happy camper!

Pat, this was our first cab tractor also!! The AC will freeze you out in the summer when I'm listening to the Cardinal ball games!! The heater aint bad either for being electric!! Ryan

Dad had one and the dealer was working on it all the time. The cab mount went out and the cab pinched the a/c line off is one thing I can think of. We tryed baling hay with it and it would overheat so we had to go back to the 7060. Front wheel bearings weren't tapered we found when one went out (2wd). The best thing was you don't have to wait on the coolant to warm up for heat. There are people that get along good with them Im sure, but ours must have been a lemon. |
