Need help in restoring grand pop's 6G excavator.
Batteries were removed and wiring to starter is in question, Can anybody assist with pics of what it looks like? Is it a positive ground? Ted |

Should be Positive Ground, should have either a linkage to the starter engagement solenoid or have a push button to engage it but will not matter if connect the batteries correctly. Also look to see if starter or generator are 24v, many of these machines were not 12v. Will have to wire batteries in series to get 24V.

Thanks for the information. Everything looks original so I dont thenk anyone switched the starter or genrator out so it should be 24 v

I have some new and used parts left over from my last 1. they will be in the shed till later this summer when it cools off. After that they will go to to the recyclers. Pm me if there is anything you need.

All the HD6 are 24volts and the early one had a BUDA motor and later the motor are ALLIS CHALMERS
