Bondurant, Iowa was hit with a tornado today. KCCI ch 8 out of Des Moines showed an 8000 series and a D series tractors with debris covering them. Looked like it was at a farm show. Hope all of you are OK tonight.

Sent home early from work tonight, (Fisher Controls, Marshalltown). Power is out and not expected to be on before the end of the shift. Spent about an hour in storm shelter. The storm missed the plant but creamed the town about a mile North. No storm damage at the farm or here in Newton.

Thanks. Kind of weird really. We went to shelter, sat there a while, the lights went out, sat there a while longer, the it was over and the sun was shining. Storm was about a mile North of the plant.

My thoughts were with my old hometown of Newton.  Some old friends were called and they said Newton wasn't hit hard but the surrounding area had places hit hard. Some wild weather around that's for sure!!

Joe that's what I heard too, local news said they where having a big open house at the plant at the time it hit with around 500 and most plant workers in and around the grounds.

Hope everyone is safe and sound after those storms.
We were supposed to get some bad storms, but NOTHING....a 6" rain, a few drops about every 6" apart, but NOTHING....
I was complaining earlier in the year about TOO MUCH rain and now we need it badly and don't get any.
Prayers go out for everyone in Iowa....and elsewhere.

Des Moines TV stations http://www.kcci.com and www.whotv.com reported that Vermeer got a warning early and had shelters built in the buildings and one employee interviewed said they were in the shelter area 15 minutes before the storm hit. Vermeer still lost three buildings. There was much carnage of vehicles in the parking lots. Still both TV stations hardly mention any other news this evening. who-TV ran news all evening yesterday.
